Notes for Christian Delzer Jr.
Christian Delzer was born in Johannestal, South Russia on 10 March (correct date is 12 March) 1865, and here he was baptised and raised as a Christian. At the age of 7 he came with his parents to the United States to Freeman, SD and here they built a home on a farm. On 27 December 1887 he married Elizabeth Schock. This union was blessed with 14 children of which 5 preceded the father into eternity. In 1888 the family came to Emmons County to homestead. A few years later they moved to Wells County and then to Pierre County and then moved to Harvey, ND in 1933. He served the Lord through good and bad. He became ill a few months ago and one saw the change. The end came on 12 January 1938 at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 2 days. He leaves to mourn his widow and 9 children, Emanuel of Hurdsfield, Mrs. Rosina Buchwitz of Goodrich, Louis of Fessenden, Mrs. Bertha Erickson of Ketichikn (sic), Alaska, Albert of Fox Valley, SK, Canada, Gustav of Clifton, ND, Mrs. Elisabeth Dorothea Bittis of Bismarck, Herbert of Harvey, and Arthur of Seattle, WA 32 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many friends and relatives who mourn him. The Lord comforts those who mourn.
