Pioneer Passes In Leavenworth (Aug 2)
Charlie W. Patterson, 67, died at his home in Leavenworth this morning after a long illness.
Mr. Patterson had been a long-time resident of this district, coming to Wenatchee in 1904.
He was born at Body Camp, Va., Sept. 20, 1869, and spent his early life there. In 1893, he was married there to Nannie L. Musgrove. With his family, he came west in a wagon, arriving here in 1904. He helped build the Highline ditch and was employed by the Wenatchee Reclamation district for 13 years. In 1925, his wife died in Cashmere.
On March 14, 1928, he was married to Ida C. Ryan at Ephrata.
Surviving are his widow; one brother, Mack, of Roanoke, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Theo Thornton and Mrs. Emma Pyeatt of Tonasket and Mrs. Ellen C. Sparks of Peshastin; two sons, Floyd Patterson of Cashmere and Tom of Wenatchee; and 14 grandchildren.
The body is at the Hennessy mortuary in Leavenworth pending funeral arrangements.
Patterson Rites
Funeral services for Charles Walter Patterson, who died at his home in Leavenworth Monday morning, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Hennesy mortuary chapel in Leavenworth. The Rev. Henry Hanson of Cashmere will officiate, and burial will be held in the Cashmere Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Walter Waldron, Antone Bye, Max Murphy, Gus Schroder, J. Caputa and Mr. Swab.
