Mrs. Ben (Malinda) Grochow, 79, Harvey, formerly of Martin, died at a Harvey hospital. The funeral is Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Anamoose. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Malinda Clara Liebe was born April 14, 1903, at rural Anamoose, to William and Hattie Liebe. She was reared on the family farm south of Anamoose, and married Ben Grochow Nov. 16, 1924, at Anamoose. They farmed north of Martin until 1957, when they moved to Martin. Since October 1982, she had been living in the intermediate care facility at the Harvey hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Ben; daughters, Audrey Dusek, Martin; Angelou Keller; Cedar Rapids, IA; and Grace Weigel, Anamoose; 17 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alma Kraut, Towner; Eleanor Moore, Coulee Dam, WA; Velma Running, Harvey.
