David Dusek
David Lawrence Dusek, 48, New Rockford, ND, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Medcenter One, Bismarck, ND, after a battle with melanoma.
Mr. Dusek was born Oct. 24, 1957, at Harvey, ND, the son of Lawrence and Audrey (Grochow) Dusek. He attended grade school at White School, Pierce County, North Dakota. He graduated from Anamoose (ND) High School in 1977. He began employment with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad in 1977. He was headquartered out of New Rockford. He married Mary Jacob on May 9, 1981, at Linton, ND. They lived in New Rockford, where he continued working for BNSF for 28 years. He was co-owner of D&K Construction, New Rockford.
He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, New Rockford, New Rockford Eagles, and New Rockford Volunteer Fire Department and Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Lodge 1654, New Rockford, where he had served as president. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Josh, Fargo, ND; three brothers, Russell (Alice), Stanley, ND; Lowell (Linda), Anamoose; and James (Anita), Mesa, Ariz.; seven sisters, Susan Corwin, Jamestown; Debbie (Larry) Schoepp, Lakota, ND; Janice (Kim) Degenstein and Grace (John) Minarik, both Forman, ND; Joan (Richard) Chiapputi, Kintyre, ND; Annette Dusek, Reno, Nev.; and Judy (Tony) Lill, Langdon, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday St. John’s Catholic Church, New Rockford, with Revs. Bernard Pfau and Frank Schuster officiating.
Prayer service: 8 p.m. today at the church.
Visitation: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.
Burial: St. Martin’s Lutheran Cemetery, Anamoose, in the spring.393
