Was baptized June 8, 1579; died in 1670, aged 91 yearts, four months, and two days. He was generally known as "John of Fife", and appears in different rentals up to 1668. On October 3, 1630, he married Sarah Craigie, who died in 1669, a daughter of Hugh Craigie, of Dumblain, Perthshire, and his wife Christiana Smyth, who was a daughter of Patrick Smyth and his wife Kathren Cochrane, who was a daughter of William Cochrane, of Perthshire. The dated of the baptisms of their children are found in St. Andrew's Church, Inchervie, Fife, Scotland.
