1930 U.S. Census age listed is 50. He owns his home valued at $250 not located on a farm, in a precinct that would eventually become Elsa, TX. According to the census, he was married at age 32 (ca. 1912?). He reports being a farm laborer. He is one of the few people in the area reporting to speak English. He did not attend school, but reads and writes. He also reports that he and both of his parents were born in Texas (most others in the area are from Mexico).1542

Widower, and lived in a Memorial Old Folks Home the last two years of his life.1549

On his 1918 WWI draft card, he was listed as a self employed farmer, in Mercedes, Texas. He was tall, medium build, with black hair and brown eyes.1548

On his 1942 WWII draft card, he was listed as a widower. His employer Engelman Products Co., Elsa, Texas. He was 5’4” 185 lbs., with gray hair, brown eyes, and light brown complexion with a wart under his right eye.1547

Blas was likely married twice. It is highly likely that it is him living next to his father in 1910 and married to a Juana (Guzman) circa 1909.1551
