“Funeral services for
Calvin L Delzer, 57, were held in Spokane on Thursday. The Rev Myer W Weness officiated and burial was in Fairmont Memorial Park. Calvin Delzer was born on a farm north of Odessa in 1907, son of the late Mr and Mrs Ludwig Delzer. He grew to manhood here and farmed in the Odessa area until 1940, when he moved to Nine Mile Falls, where he engaged in poultry farming up to the time he retired on account of poor health in 1960 and moved to a home in Spokane. He died May 3, 1964 in a Seattle hospital, where he had undergone brain surgery four months ago. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Delzer, at the home; two daughters, Mrs Donalee Lee, Bremerton; and Mrs Joyce Kellison, Spokane; one son, Wayne Delzer of Elk; and 9 grandchildren; three brothers, Richard and Edwin Delzer of Odessa; Herbert Delzer of Spangle, WA; two sisters, Mrs Adeline Luce, Spokane; and Mrs Ruth Schoessler, Grandview, WA.” (Odessa Record: 5-14-1964)
