Eleanor Grochow, 67, Harvey, formerly of Anamoose, died Monday, Oct. 15, 1990, in a Harvey hospital. Her funeral was Thursday in St. Martin Lutheran Church, Anamoose, with burial in the church cemetery.
She was born Dec. 7, 1922, on a farm north of Harvey to John and Mary Eva Kuhn. She was reared by her aunt and uncle, Peter and Mary Grossman, northeast of Anamoose. She attended White Consolidated School near Anamoose and later high school in Anamoose. She married Otto Grochow Jan. 16, 1941, in Anamoose. They lived and farmed east of Anamoose. In 1961, they moved into Anamoose, where she was employed by Albrecht’s Grocery Store and later Schilling Grocery Store. She retired in 1978. They moved to Harvey Oct. 1 of this year.
She was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was treasurer for Anamoose Senior Citizens, New Alpha Homemakers and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, where she also served as auditor, all of Anamoose.
Survivors include her husband, daughters, Irene Helm, Wenatchee, WA, Anna Gehring, Minot; sons, Arthur, Kenmare; Scott, Rugby; 6 grandchildren; foster mother, Kathryn Grossman, Devils Lake; sisters, Kathryn Froeber, Vancouver, WA, Helen Hauck, Surrey; brothers, Edward Kuhn, Minot, Edward Grossman, Harvey, Raymond Grossman, Glenburn.
