Notes for Rebecca E. Ulrich
Rebecca E. Grochow, 82, Anamoose, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 1989, in a Harvey hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 5, 10:30 a.m., at the St. Martin Lutheran Church, Anamoose. Burial will be in the St. Martin Lutheran Cemetery, rural Anamoose. She was born Sept. 10, 1907, at Cathay, to Jacob and Dora Ulrich. She grew up and attended school in Cathay. She married George Grochow on July 11, 1927, at Cathay. They moved to a farm near Martin and then later to a farm near Anamoose. In 1953 they moved into Anamoose. He died Feb. 11, 1971. She continued to live in Anamoose.
She was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church and the Senior Citizens, both Anamoose.
Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Walter (Esther) Doubek, Mrs. William (Dorothy) Thomssen, both of Anamoose; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, JoHanna Sweet, Bakersfield, CA; Dorthy McCaslin, Lexington Park, MD; brothers Gordon, Boise, ID; Jacob P., Minot; Raymond, Shakopee, MN; Arthur, Turlock, CA; Melvin, Bakersfield, CA. Visitation Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.89
