Grace Simmons died of heart failure on April 6, 1958 at her home on the east side of town. She was the daughter of Thomas Clark and Charlotte Elliot Clark of Waterville, Washington. She had a twin brother Elliot, and they were born on July 22, 1884 at Harrisburg [Halsey], Oregon. Over the years she was an active member of the Valier community. She served as Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star, a member of the Methodist Ladies Aid for many years, and she also served on the local election board.
Alva and Grace had two daughters, Sara and Charlotte.
