While browsing this site, please consider two things:
Any information is appreciated, such as:
- This family tree and website belongs to YOU! As YOU belong to the family that is listed on this site.
I will try and keep it up and available for as long as possible. Hopefully indefinitely. (The web address is already prepaid and reserved for the next 5 years.)
- As YOUR family tree, I ask that you please help and contribute information to make it more accurate and informative. You can contact me by phone, e-mail, or snail mail.
One other thing, there is no such thing as too much family info. Please do bombard me with as much info as you can get your hands on. (They won't shut down my e-mail account.) Please, just make sure that all info is accurate. Don't guess at history, if possible.
- corrections on inaccurate info I may have posted
- photos, stories, letters, documents, or obituaries
-If you do not have a photo scanner, I will pay for first-class shipping and insurance both ways and can scan them personally (scans of photos are better than photocopies). I will treat them as family heirlooms while handling them, and return them very quickly.- leads on where I can find photos, stories, letters, documents, or obituaries
- recipes to add to our recipe section.
- small details, such as a persons eye or hair color, cause of death, occupations, place of education, arrest record (haha), awards, favorite games, favorite foods, small facts or memories
-Trust me, future generations will find these small details fascinating.- interview questions
I have created a downloadable interview question sheet that can be printed and handed out to your close or distant family members. They can answer the questions on their own time and return them at their leisure. Feel free to add questions to the list as you feel important. You may mail or e-mail them to me.
WHY should you help contribute to your family history?
Thank you for visiting this website.
- Once I feel enough info has been collected, I will be creating and have made available to you at cost, hardcover, professionally published, textbook style, family-history books. They will include recipes, charts, maps with emmigration routes, family pages, stories, a full index, and hopefully (with any luck) be multi-volumed (depending on the number of pages the publisher can bind).
-This makes a perfect wedding or graduation gift!- I will always have an up-to-date GEDCOM (GEnealogical Data COMmunication) file available for download (just e-mail me).
A GEDCOM file is basically your family tree and all its data saved in a universal format that can be viewed right on your computer from any free family tree editing software.- It is a great way to compile and view photos that other family members have collected. I can also send you a full CD (or CD's) with the most up-to-date list of the original high-quality versions of all photos on the website. These can be developed.
- Family history, if not recorded, when fresh on the mind of the individual can easily be forgotton or die with our loved-ones. This is the info that we will wish we would have asked for or collected when they were still with us.
- It helps us all stay in contact with each other.
