Jacob P. Pyeatt died at the Battle of Wilson’s Creek during the Civil War. Amelia Crozier was home in Washington, AR, during the battle. She was awaiting the safe return of her 32 year old husband Private Jacob Preston Pyeatt, of the 3rd AR Inf. She never saw him again, as he was killed in the battle.
