Notes for Johannes Delzer
Johannes Delzer from Artas, SD, was born 7 April 1863 in Johannestal, South Russia. He came to America with his parents, settling at Freeman, SD. He was married to Margaretha Weber and they made their home 14 miles north of Eureka, SD. In May 1911 his wife died. He was married in October of the same year to Lydia Finkbeiner. She died on 29 February 1933. Since then he has lived with his children. He died on 1 January 1939. He was 75 years, 8 months and 24 days old.
Survivors are: from the first marriage: four sons and three daughters. Six children preceded him in death. Also 38 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was at the Reformed Church with Rev. Hoffner from Artas, SD, officiating.680
